Uganda's flag, seen occasionally in East African wildlife and marathon-running content. Its horizontal black-yellow-red bands, repeated three times, represent the African people, sunshine, and brotherhood, while the grey crowned crane at its center — the country's national bird — was originally the emblem of British colonial Uganda, chosen because the bird stands on one leg, said to symbolize the country moving forward.
