The rainbow flag, the internationally recognized symbol of LGBTQ+ pride, used for Pride Month content, identity expression, and allyship. Originally designed in 1978 by artist Gilbert Baker with eight stripes (including hot pink and turquoise), it was later reduced to the now-standard six colors partly due to fabric availability issues at the time.
