A black cat, added specifically to fill a color gap in the cat emoji lineup and quickly adopted for Halloween content, superstition jokes ('bad luck'), and goth aesthetic posts. Introduced in Unicode 13.0 (2020) as a ZWJ combo of the cat and black-square emoji.
